Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her movie Piano earned her an Oscar. She began her career as an actor on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. She is a lover of acting from the time when she was in the high school. Her first role in a production in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one her ears, but this was not enough to stop the actress from pursuing her dream. After studying drama in college and moving to New York City with her plans to achieve them. In a chance encounter she was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which was Hunter's first performance. Her first film role came when she moved to Los Angeles. Her career spans more than thirty years and she's appeared in a variety of TV films or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
